It's been a long year. A good year. A crazy year. And definitely a year of
firsts...
I finished my
first year of college.
I visited NYC for the
first (and second, third and fourth) times.
I created my
first blog :)
I finally got my
first sister!
I got my
first real internship.
I moved into my
first apartment.
I even finished my
first crossword puzzle ever!
Haha, but seriously. 2005 was a good year. I have many memories and few regrets. So here's to a good year past and a great year beginning...
To do in '06
- buy my first real suit!
- listen.
- get an A+
- watch the news!
- learn to play ice hockey
- sled down Libe slope
- write letters
- be crazy ... er ;)
But my biggest goal for 2006 is this: to
appreciate more. Appreciate my family, my friends, my education, my material blessings, my jobs, my food, my life. Last week my family and I spent Christmas day in downtown Baltimore giving out food and gifts to the homeless. I had one tin of cookies. And I'll tell you, those men and women and children flocked around me like seagulls. And they were
so grateful. For a cookie. And a smile. And a 'Merry Christmas'. I've never felt more guilty getting into a new car to drive to a nice home in suburbia for a warm meal and a comfy bed. And although I pray I will never see the end of these blessings, I hope even more that I will never again take them for granted. I will appreciate the little things in 2006.
Sorry to get so mature on y'all, but hey, I've only got 6 more days to figure out how to be an adult!! Or maybe make that, only 6 more days to live it up as a teenager ;)
Happy New Year!
